June Stamp of the Month - A Flowering Bunch S1306A
$5 with a $50 order or $17.95.

For Consultants:
Double Point Madness - Is your dream vacation to Costa Rica still a dream? Earn double points in June starting at just $1,000 in personal sales, all the way up to 4,000 bonus cruise points! It’s the last trip-specific promotion of the earning period, so let the madness begin!

Speaking of specials and increasing your personal sales....one way is by offering limited time discounts.  Here is food for thought on the subject.

Instead of offering a discount on any and all orders, I like the idea of "bundling".  I attended a Miche Purse party on Sunday and liked their sales method of special pricing if you purchased a "bundle".  The price for their "bundles" ranged from about $42 - $115  with most about $100.  The bundles ended up about a 15% discount.

You could create your own bundles to fit you and your customers needs. Here are some ideas :

Scrapbookers starter set - See Lynn Como's Video Tips From the Top in the Train Academy Video's
for some great tips on how to promote our albums and accessories.

Studio J starter set - with a Studio J 5 pack and an Album
Embellishment bundle -  Pick any 5 Embellishments (you choose the number)
Your favorite tools - mine are the Stamp Scrubber and Spritz Cleaner, Scissors, Piercing Tool kit,
Liquid Glass, VersaMat and Round Sponge
Storage Bundle - Organization items -
Marker Bundle - Any 6 markers (you choose the number)
Stamp Set Bundle with Blocks
A bundle based on a specific project like the Pajama Party Project

Set 3 or 4 price points - For this month I'd recommend ending up at $25 with 1 stamp set so they qualify for the FREE mini Banner and $50 to qualify for the Stamp of the Month for $5.  Also let your customers know with $150 order, they will also qualify for $25 in hostess gifts!

Try this and let me know your results!

Today's Tip SUBJECT: WOW! IT’S A BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL!!!

Please tell us you are old enough to remember the famous K-Mart “blue light specials”! You know the deal, the P.A. system announces… “Attention K-Mart shoppers, in just 30 seconds and for the next 5 minutes, there will be a blue light special featuring our special house dresses in aisle 3…” Suddenly, there is a stampede of women all running over one another with their shopping carts in an effort to get to the cart featuring those lovely flowered garments.

OK, where are we going with this…today’s topic, to discount or not to discount…that is the question.

The Sucess Factory recently received an email from a consultant in a party plan business (to remain nameless), offering 25% off her products. We receive one of these emails from this same consultant about every other week…always offering some kind of discount on her products.

Now, while we are all independent consultants and therefore running our own businesses; for the most part it is our decision whether or not to discount.  If you are considering discounting your products, you may want to consider the following:
  1. Discounting regularly “cheapens” your product.
  2. Discounting regularly makes it sound like you believe your products are too expensive.
  3. Discounting regularly makes your customers believe your products are too expensive.
  4. Discounting regularly makes your customers NEVER want to purchase at full price.
  5. Discounting and emailing your customers too frequently can make you a pest vs. a service.
The key phrase here is “discounting regularly”. While we believe an occasional sale for preferred customers/hostesses is a wonderful “thank you”; we think the above thoughts are worth taking into account as well…would you agree?

Creative Corner:
I'm on the home stretch getting ready for convention so I've had to do a LOT of stamplifting to quickly come up with my cards to teach to my workshop groups.  I can hardly wait to see what new things CTMH has for us in the Fall/Winter Idea Book!   Here are a couple that I'm teaching:
This is my July Stamp of the Month card - I used the marker techniques shown in the video on the CTMH website
https://orders.closetomyheart.com/CTMHConsultants/ToKnow/Marquee/post/2013/06/06/Better-Blending.aspx
I stamped the image with Black Stazon. It's embellished with Bulk 296 Bakers Twine - Hemp and Artisan Studs

This card was adapted from a card by Lori Miller - she used the Dream Pop papers
I re-made it using Later Sk8r

This is a card I did last year - it uses just cardstock and Cricut AP cuts
the base is made from a circle cut at 5 1/2 inches and folded in half
Cut a second one is Topiary and cut it in half (you get 2 cards from 1 circle)
the white scallop circle layer is cut at 5 inches - cut in half as well
the Hollyhock circle layer is cut at 4 1/2 inches - cut in half and sponged
the "seeds" are cut at 1/2 inch and covered with Liquid Glass.
The card fits in a standard letter size envelope.
